Overview
Streaming fatigue is real. Research shows users spend more time browsing than watching. Eleven was a concept project exploring a smarter recommendation engine paired with a social layer — making the choice easy and the experience shared.
Problem & Opportunity
The opportunity: a smarter recommendation engine paired with a social layer. Instead of an endless scroll of options, Eleven surfaces content through trusted social signals — what friends are watching, what's trending in your network, and AI-assisted "for you" suggestions.
The social viewing layer allowed users to create shared watchlists, sync viewing in real-time, and leave time-stamped reactions — making watching together possible even when you're apart.
Concept Design
I designed a swipe-based discovery interface, social watchlists and a real-time co-watching feature. Every design decision was oriented around reducing decision fatigue: fewer choices, better matched to your tastes and your people.
Key Design Decisions
- Swipe-based discovery to reduce cognitive load vs. grid browsing
- Social watchlists prioritised over algorithmic cold-start recommendations
- Co-watching with real-time sync and reaction overlays
- Clean, content-first visual design letting the artwork lead
