Overview
Star Fleet Academy is a creative data visualisation concept — applying UX and data design principles to an entertainment dataset. The goal: make complex fleet stats and character data feel alive, explorable and emotionally resonant, not like a spreadsheet.
The Concept
Data visualisation is at its best when it connects emotion to information. By using the Star Wars universe as the dataset, I could design visualisations that users already have an emotional connection to — making it easier to demonstrate UX-driven data design without the context overhead of a business dataset.
Visual Design
The visual language is dark and cinematic — custom data charts, animated transitions and interactive filters designed to feel like you're exploring the universe from inside a command terminal. The design contrasts cool tech aesthetics with warm human storytelling.
Every chart is designed with clarity first: the story the data tells is always the primary element, with visual drama added to engage rather than to obscure.
Design Choices
